Who is conducting the survey?

Oak Bay Police Department has hired R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. (www.malatest.com), a Victoria-based research company to complete this survey. Malatest has provided survey services in the Greater Victoria region for more than 40 years.

Who is being surveyed? How was I chosen to complete the survey?

A randomly sampled set of households in Oak Bay have been selected to complete the survey, using Canada Post address records. Approximately 1 in 4 households in the municipality have been selected to complete the survey.

How long will the survey take?

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes.

How did R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. obtain my contact information?

Malatest used Canada Post address records, which only record the address and not any personal information about who lives there?

What happens to my answers?

All data collected by Malatest is kept confidential and no individual answers are publicly released.

How is my privacy protected?

All your survey responses will have their personally-identifying data removed and answers will be aggregated together to ensure confidentiality.

Can I be removed from the survey?
